Bath Jamaica

 

The small Jamaican town of Bath hosts the oldest botanical gardens on the island and a natural healing mineral springs.

The Botanical garden holds the oldest breadfruit trees, said to be the original trees brought to the island by Captain Bligh.

Long Bay Beach, Jamaica

 

A long beautiful beach lies on the East side of Jamaica, Long Bay. The contentious ocean pounds ashore onto a wide, palm shaded sandy beach. The beach is dotted with Tiki Hut bars, restaurants and cabins. The vibe is laid back and European.

Reach Falls Jamaica

 

Visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Jamaica. Reach Falls can be found in Portland Parish.  Just South of Manchioneal, three miles inland off the A4, the Drivers River plunges 30’ into a wide aqua pool.

Blue Mountains Jamaica Trekking

 

Trekking to the top of the Blue Mountain begins well before dawn. Start with a fire roasted cup of Blue Mountain organic coffee, one of the most famous flavors of coffee. The trek is six miles long. Walk slow and pace yourself. The goal is to walk at night so you can reach the peak at sunrise.

Boston Bay Beach

Boston Bay is a rock cradled bay with great waves for surfing and the original jerk stands.

Manchioneal Fishing Village, Jamaica

Manchioneal is a great example of Jamaican culture. It is a small fishing town on the protected Manchioneal Bay just across from Zion Country.

Public beaches are getting rare in Jamaica. Much of the prime coastline has been privatized, leaving little for locals to enjoy. But Lyssons Beach has enjoyed a comeback and rejuvination in the hands of locals for locals!
